Free College Application Week for High School Seniors in Texas
What it is: A Texas statewide initiative (created by Senate Bill 2231) requiring all public colleges and universities to waive undergraduate application fees for Texas residents applying via ApplyTexas. (not thru Common app)
When it is (2026 Dates): October 12–18, 2026 (runs Monday–Sunday during the second full week of October). Applications must be fully submitted by 11:59 p.m. CDT on October 18, 2026.
Who can participate: Texas residents applying for undergraduate programs (including both first-time and transfer students) at Texas public institutions.

To establish resident status, students must provide their institution with a completed set of the Core Residency Questions. The Core Residency Questions may also be completed as part of the student’s admissions application through Apply Texas.
